Four-time Kenyan Premier League champions Ulinzi Stars have strengthened the team ahead of the 2023/24 season by signing four new players.
The club on Friday confirmed the signings of National Super League outfit Darajani Gogo captain Nicholas Omondi. The highly-rated midfielder, a former international, was also tracked by AFC Leopards and promoted Shabana.
“Ulinzi Stars FC is pleased to announce the signing of Nicholas Omondi. The attacking midfielder joins the Soldiers from Darajani Gogo,” the club said in a statement posted on their social media pages.
Others are centreback Omar Swaleh from NSL side SS Assad and Migori Youth midfielder Ben Stanley Omondi. Omondi was on loan to KPL side Sofapaka last season. Attacking midfielder Mathew Okumu has also joined Ulinzi from Kenya Navy FC.
Further, the club is in the process of enlisting former Bandari goalkeeper Michael Wanyika, who was released by Bandari last season.
At the same time, Ulinzi Stars has unveiled Sancom, a defence and security company, as their back-of-the-jersey sponsors.
"We're delighted to be partnering with Sancom as our back sponsor and look forward to helping them reach their business objectives by utilising our partnership, platforms and players as strategic marketing levers," said Ulinzi Stars chief executive officer, Major Godwin Baraza.
