Kenya Pipeline opposite player Naomi Too has advised the juniors at the club to remain levelheaded if they intend to hit dizzying heights in their budding careers.

The experienced attacker was feted the best player in her specialty at the Africa Club Volleyball Championships last month.

She was also named in the 2023 Dream Team alongside teammate Trizah Azuka who starred as a middle blocker.

Too, who also plays beach volleyball, said patience is key for the development of junior players and also their transition from school to club volleyball.

"If I was not patient, probably I would have maybe given up along the way. Giving up is never an option, especially for the upcoming players. They need to have the intestinal fortitude to overcome challenges and tough times," Too said.

"They need to set targets and work towards achieving them. For them to exploit their potential, they need proper guidance, and also their decision-making needs to be spot-on," Too added.

Too has spent seven years with Pipeline. She was instrumental as the Paul Gitau-tutored side romped to the Kenya Volleyball Federation league title in January, albeit unbeaten.

The soft-spoken player has played beach volleyball for more than 10 years.

The Uasin Gishu native maintains that her priority is to be part of the Kenya Team at the World Championships in Budapest.

Too missed the delayed Tokyo Olympic Games after suffering a long-term injury that ended her hopes of participating in the quadrennial showpiece.

"My body is in perfect shape. It was unfortunate to miss the Olympics but I am raring to go. The target is to first make the team," she finalised.
