The Technical University of Kenya has appointed Prof Paul Shiundu as the acting vice-chancellor.
Prof Shiundu takes over from Prof Francis Aduol whose term ended on May 15, 2023.
Until his appointment, Prof Shiundu had been Prof Aduol's principal deputy serving as the deputy serving vice-chancellor, academic and student affairs.
In a memo dated May 15, the university chairman council Idle Farah said Prof Shiundu has been appointed to act as the vice chancellor of the Technical University of Kenya.
"I take this opportunity on behalf of the University Council, management and senate, to congratulate Prof Shiundu on his appointment and wish him every success in executing his new duties and responsibilities," he said.
"I wish to notify the entire University staff and student fraternity that as of May 15, 2023, Prof Aduol served the then Kenya Polytechnic, Kenya Polytechnic University College and the current Technical University of Kenya for over 16 years."
Farah praised Prof Aduol for his achievements and effort in ensuring the university is recognized as an international institution of high repute.
