Ulinzi Sharks crushed Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (Jkuat) 31-12 in a women's Kenya Handball Federation (KHF) league match on Saturday.

The soldiers — last year's runners up — led 16-2 at the break and had Sharon Chelule scoring six as did Sarah Wasike while Diana Karani shot five.

"The match was good. The preparation was good. We are happy about it and we are ready to fight upto the next game," said sharks captain Angela Simiyu.

Annette Baraza led the students tally with four goals while Esther Gathoni managed to hit the net three times.

"Today's game was okay. I hope next time we have a game against Ulinzi we will have an improved defense and attack," said Jkuat's captain Ancette Baraza.

Lydia Kinuthia led Amazon with seven goals and Nelly Krista tallied six. New Hope's Florence Sanyisa bagged the losers nine.

GSU defeated Technical University of Kenya (TUK) 36-26 in another game. The victors tooks 20-11 lead at half time and went all the way. Kefan Masi tallied nine and Philip Esikei. Brian Werengai scored eight goals and Moran Ngugi four.

Vincent Odhiambo scored nine goals and Nick Baraza added seven as they guided Nairobi City Council (NCC) to a 37-33 win over Thika.

The losers — up 17-15 at the break — were led by Bonaventure Kaduku and Cyrus Ongera who shot seven each as Hussein Khalifa bagged six.

Strathmore University had it easy thrashing winless Young City 45-15 after taking a 24-15 half time scoreline.

Alan Simiyu tallied nine, Simon Simiyu six while Nicholas Munyaqa and Mwangi Kevin made five each.
