The race will start at Chepilat on the Bomet/Nyamira border and finish at Ikonge primary school.

“We expect a huge turnout of both local and elite athletes register for the race. We have had a hugely successful series at the sub county level. I’m happy that from the series, we have identified and exposed new talents” she said.

“Nyamira is a county that produced great athletes including Olympians, the late Naftali Temu, the late Robert Ouko and Charles Asati. Governor Amos Nyaribo is determined to restore the county’s lost glory,” said Nyamongo.

Faith Bett from neighbouring Bomet County was the star of the series. She won three events with Enock Onchari who trains in Iten, Elgeyo Marakwet County winning two. Both athletes are eyeing the ultimate prize on December 13.
