Kate Actress reversed the weight loss procedure she had opted for after it went against her wish.
A few months ago, Kate announced she had undergone a gastric balloon procedure to shed some weight.
Speaking in a recent interview with Mungai Eve, the mother of two said she stayed with the balloon for only four months.
According to Kate, in the first few weeks, she lost 15kg, and she felt like it was too much to lose in such a short time.
"Thankfully, there is something I can do. I told them (the hospital), I wanted to lose weight but not this much coz I still want to be a curvy girl," she said.
Kate added that she wanted to lose 20kg but she had no idea that losing even 5kg would make such a huge difference in how she looks.
"I realised that my body would shrink and I might not look like the same person. I would not look nice," she said.
"I talked to them and they told me after a month, they would incorporate movement and change my diet so I don't end up losing so much and look saggy."
Kate has since embarked on working out and managing the portions of food she takes.
She said the dietician would then help her go through that.
"I love working out and lifting weights. I started working out slowly and went back to the gym as I needed to have my muscles back. I realised that my weight was coming back and I looked even better."
Asked why she had opted for the procedure, Kate said she was just not happy with her body at the time and she felt like she was not motivated in her acting career.
"I wanted to look different in the role that I was taking but I have learnt how to control my portion of food, and that has stuck even after I reversed the procedure," she said.
She is currently managing her body with the lessons she learnt, which will be enough for her to know how to control her weight in future.
"I am more conscious."
The intragastric balloon placement procedure is a weight-loss procedure that involves placing a saline-filled silicone balloon in your stomach.
This helps you lose weight by limiting how much you can eat and making you feel fuller and faster.
When she announced her plans on May 11, she said the cost of the whole process in Kenya ranges from Sh300,000 to Sh500,000.
Speaking to her fans on Instagram, Kate said the main reason she needs to lose weight and tone her body is to take up a certain role in acting.
