Kyallo sisters Betty, Merch and Gloria have reminisced on how life became tough after their father left the country for greener pastures.
Speaking in their reality show, Betty said she played the biggest sister to Gloria, who was very young then.
Betty said she and her dad were tight.
"My dad gave me my first sip of alcohol. We have a cordial relationship," Betty said.
Mercy said her dad was her best friend. "There is a way we understood each other and had our language."
Betty added that her dad was a present dad in their lives, but when he left, her mum struggled to even afford their meal.
"My mum was devastated and for some time, we were struggling, not eating the best meals at dinner. Like we used to eat pumpkin and strong tea at night," Betty said.
