Esther Akoth, alias Akothee, on Saturday launched her book, 'Akothee Quotes', and an EP, 'Akothee The Lioness'.
The invite-only event took place at the Eka Hotel and was attended by the who is who in the industry.
Akothee's mum, Monica Owino, thanked her daughter's friends and family for supporting Akothee.
Monica, the current chairperson of Awendo Municipality, talked about the importance of a united family.
She thanked Akothee's ex-husband for always supporting her journey.
"When people see Akothee, they think she is not born in a family. She is born in a family of 23, many boys and a few girls," she said.
"People must learn every day. When you have a problem and children are there, you must know how to nurture yourself. The father of my grandchildren must stay where the daughters are so that they can be protected."
While conveying her husband's apology, Akothee's mum said he is unwell.
"Esther loves the dad, she thinks he is dying, but he is okay," she said.
"Esther has inherited music from the father, he is a proper musician. Thank you, my daughter. Don't be emotional all the time, you are doing wonders and teaching women and men how to live in this world."
Monica, a retired teacher, also emphasised the importance of educating children and staying at peace with everyone.
Eloquent lawyer PLO Lumumba described Akothee as unique and a pride of Africa, who does not apologise for being herself.
"Those who do not know you may judge you on that only. Those of us who cared to know you, judge you on the totality of your personality," he said.
Akothee's baby daddy Jared said he was there to support a gem. "We have had our ups and downs but we have cemented those downs and now we are rising," he said.
Early this year, Akothee said she was going back to school to make her parents proud.
Akothee said that she regrets that she didn't finish her studies when she was young.
Instead, she got married and ended up educating her kids first.
Akothee had her first daughter when she was 14 years old.
Her second daughter, who died, came when she was 15, and her third at 16.
