2021 has been a dramatic year in the entertainment industry. It was full of scandals, from cheating to paternity disputes.
Some celebs kissed and made up, others wished the storm away and others simply stopped washing their dirty linen in public.
Below are some of the hottest scandals that kept us entertained.
SAMIDOH VS KAREN NYAMU
Mugithi maestro Samidoh caught many by surprise when Karen Nyamu announced she was carrying another baby for the singer a year after the two welcomed a son together.
In a live session on Instagram, fans asked why she got pregnant again yet their relationship had been marred by controversies.
"That man is fertile. Children are blessings. Love is stupid," she said.
This came a few months after Samidoh publicly apologised to his wife Edday.
"I bless my generation and may it continue growing. I now apologise to you my fans for setting a bad example. I take full responsibility for my mistakes, which I regret. We have had our own shares of ups and downs but we are stronger and happy together," he said.
Samidoh is already married and has two kids with his first wife, Edday, who is also currently rumoured to be pregnant with their third child.
JAMAL, AMIRA VS AMBER RAY
The drama started after Jamal and Amber were spotted on holiday in Coast. After the photos leaked, Jamal and Amber confirmed they were dating and Jamal later said he had married Amber as his second wife.
Jamal said his first wife Amira knew about it but Amira admitted she came to know Amber and Jamal were getting married via social media like everyone else.
Despite her religion allowing her husband to marry several wives, Amira said the news disheartened her as Jamal did not inform her of his plans to marry Amber.
"According to the religion, ukiwa unaenda kuoa mke wa pili, unafaa ujulishe mke wako wa kwanza. So, kama kitu hujaambiwa… anaenda kuoa ama nini, siwezi nikaichukulia sawa. Sio sawa kwangu na haitawahi kua sawa," Amira said.
The two co-wives were always at loggerheads and would air their dirty linen in public via social media.
His first wife then asked for a divorce. "As from today, kindly consider me a single mum. Jamal Rohosafi, get that divorce paper ready. I am not going to allow you to disrespect me again."
The next twist was an alleged breakup with Amber Ray.
Amber Ray publicly split from Jamal after the controversial relationship that saw the socialite trade insults with his wife.
PROF HAMO VS JEMUTAI
Earlier in the year, Hamo was accused by Jemutai of being a deadbeat dad.
Jemutai said Hamo had stopped taking care of their two children and the bills had started overwhelming her.
She reached out to Edgar Obare, who helped her expose her baby daddy. After trending for days, the two sat down and decided to patch things up.
"Yes, I forgave him after we had a candid talk and realised that we were both wrong," she said.
"Our communication was bad and that is what led to the drama.
"I forgave him and he also forgave me. At the end of the day, there is no perfect person, plus we have two kids."
JACQUE MARIBE VS ERIC OMONDI
Jacque Maribe caused a stir online when she alleged that her baby daddy Eric Omondi has been a deadbeat dad for the last seven years.
The former media personality said she did not want to expose Eric before as she was trying to protect their son.
However, she said she had had enough of people assuming Eric is a perfect dad when he does nothing.
"So, all said and done, and you can read in between the lines if you want, I'm hopelessly in love with motherhood. And as a single mum doing everything on her own, my goal is to raise a brilliant person, as he already is."
Eric responded, saying he and Maribe had only had a one-night stand in the past and that he wasn't sure if he had fathered her child or not.
To be sure he said he wanted a DNA test done.
"For seven years I have begged Jacque to allow us have a DNA test and she has continually refused! I don’t mind supporting the child but if you want me to be fully present and supportive, if you want me to be a father, then we have to do the right thing."
KABI WA JESUS VS COUSIN
Kabi trended after it was alleged that he had sired a child with his cousin.
At first he downplayed the allegations, but he had nowhere to hide after DNA results confirmed he was the father.
He vowed to take responsibility for the daughter, only known as Abby.
Many castigated him and questioned how he could sleep with his cousin yet he was a Christian. Kabi defended himself, saying whatever happened occurred while he was still living the secular life.
MUTUA VS LILIAN NG'ANG'A
Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua's breakup story with Lilian Ng'ang'a is still on after they ended their 10-year relationship.
The former first lady is currently dating singer Juliani.
Another hot scandal involved Saumu, the daughter of former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, who accused Senator Anwar of attempting to kill her.
