• Bien said Sauti Sol's record label Sol Generation is set to unveil a female artiste
Sauti Sol's Bien has explained why the boy band has not released any song since they dropped their album in 2020.
Speaking to Word Is, Bien said it is always good to have a moment of calm before the storm comes.
"We have relaxed and taken time for our fans to listen and internalise the 'Midnight Train' album. It is still the number one album on some platforms since we released it last year. We are still working on some new albums on the way."
Two weeks ago, Sauti Sol issued a statement informing their fans that they were not going to have their UK performance.
"We regret to inform you that due to visa delays and the Covid-19 restrictions, our UK residency has been rescheduled to October 2021. All tickets remain valid and we look forward to seeing you all very soon."
Some of their fans did not understand why they cancelled 24 hours before the show.
kazmufc20 wrote; "Second time this year, hope our third time lucky as we can’t wait to come to see u live." ebby.ng wondered why artistes from other countries did not cancel.
"South African artistes have not been cancelling! Wameshinda huku! Am getting my refund and am not paying again. This is like the third time huu mchezo hapana."
Sauti Sol's Bien explained that fans should understand that some things are beyond their control.
"People need to understand that there are restrictions in the world. Some things are beyond us, we also want to go for these shows. How can we just sit at home and fail to show up?" he said.
"I stopped stressing about such things. We will go to that show at the right time and they will enjoy it."
On how they have managed to survive during the pandemic, Bien said the best thing for all is to know how to live within your limits.
"The best way to survive through this pandemic is that. Money is not made only through live performances," he said.
"We have been doing other businesses. Our Pace headphones have sold out already. We hope the government will open the country."
Bien also revealed that Sauti Sol's record label Sol Generation is set to unveil a female artiste.
"We have done our due diligence and she is very hardworking. She has talent beyond measure. We will sign more in future."
