BONGO star Siaka Nasor aka Dogo Aslay of the famed Yamoto Band is bereaved.

Aslay lost his mother, Moza Mohamed, at Temeke hospital in Dar es Salaam, where she succumbed to high blood pressure. She was laid to rest yesterday.

Several Tanzanian artistes and promoters including Diamond Platnumz, managers Babu Tale, Mkumbwa Fella, tycoon Chief Kiumbe and Musa Babaz sent their condolences to Dogo Aslay.

“I know how painful it is to lose a loved one. I lost my father recently and it was such a hard time for me. Aslay loved his mother so dearly but he should just accept. We will comfort him until the last minute,” said Babu Tale.

Diamond said, “He loved his mother a lot as I do, they should be loved, respected and cared too, its a great loss but that’s God’s plan.”

In the group’s recent hit song titled Nitakupwelepweta, Aslay is heard expressing his love to his mother saying, “Ananitegemea sana mama, nikifa atalia sana, katika familia na mimi ni baba, japo baba yuko. Nikija kufa nani ataziba? (My mother depends on me so much, she will weep for me if I die, although my father is alive, I am like a father in the family. If I die who will replace me?)”

Our condolences to Aslay, family and relatives.
