Exhibitors showcase their products during Powerelec Kenya 2025 held in Nairobi/HANDOUT
Kenya is reaffirming its position as a renewable energy powerhouse as it hosts Powerelec Kenya 2025, a major international exhibition and conference focused on advancing Africa’s clean energy agenda.
The three-day event that concludes on Friday, November 13, 2025, at the Sarit Expo Centre in Nairobi brings together global and regional industry leaders to explore solutions in solar power, renewable energy, energy storage, e-mobility, and the broader electrical industry.
Powerelec Kenya 2025 is being held under the patronage of the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum and in strategic partnership with the Ministry of Investments, Trade and Industry (MITI).
Organizers say this year’s edition features over 100 international exhibitors, 50 expert speakers, 500 delegates, and more than 4,000 trade visitors from across East Africa.
The conference aims to strengthen partnerships, promote innovation, and fast-track Africa’s transition to sustainable energy. It will also provide opportunities for investors, innovators, and policymakers to exchange ideas and explore new markets in the region.
Kenya continues to lead the continent in renewable energy generation, with up to 91 percent of its electricity currently sourced from clean energy such as geothermal, wind, hydro, and solar.

“Kenya stands out as a true renewable energy leader in Africa,” said Nigel Sun, Head of Sungrow Sub-Saharan Africa, the event’s Principal Sponsor.
“With nearly all its power already sourced from clean energy and bold national targets for 2030, the country demonstrates what a sustainable energy future can look like. Sungrow is proud to partner with Kenyan stakeholders to advance this vision through innovative solar and storage solutions that expand access and accelerate green growth.”
The conference also features high-level participation from leaders and experts representing the Kenya Electricity Generating Company (KenGen), Kenya Power & Lighting Company (KPLC), Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA), GIZ Kenya, NUPEA, SUNGROW, Huawei FusionSolar, LONGi Solar, and other global renewable energy brands.
As the world pushes for greener energy solutions, Powerelec Kenya 2025 positions the country as a regional hub for renewable energy investment and technology.
The event not only showcases innovation but also highlights Kenya’s leadership in building a cleaner, more resilient, and sustainable energy future for Africa.
