WhatsApp users to soon join group calls by tapping a link

Meta is soon rolling out a feature that will enable WhatsApp users to share call links to invite others to join a group chat.

Users will be able to see the call link option within the “Calls Tab”, which will enable them to create a shareable link to get people in the chat once the feature is rolled out this week.

Just like the way Google Meet and Zoom apps where links are shared, the feature will work the same way. This is a good way to enhance community connection and facilitate engagement between brands and businesses.

Meta says that it is also working on a secure, encrypted video calling for up to 32 people in the future as well.
