Saboti MP Caleb Amisi has told off those criticising the new Chief of Defence Forces Francis Ogolla over his alleged attempt to overturn President William Ruto's win in the last general election.

Amisi in a Tweet on Monday urged the critics to stop.

"Those criticising General Francis Ogolla that he tried to overturn Ruto's win, please stop it," Amisi said.

He explained that active military officers always act in the line of duty.

Amisi gave a scenario of when the Commander in Chief of Defence Forces sends an officer to fight Al-Shabaab and the officer blatantly refuses.

"That is mutiny liable to a court marshal," the MP said.

He said those who have evidence should not be dumb but rather, work through the command chain and click the right chords.

"This is military, not civil service. Enough of attacking security systems that have no right of reply or power of the microphone," Amisi said.

He said Kenya has no other military

"Perhaps because Kenya has never been forced to protect her territory integrity by hard power, that's when will appreciate such institutions. Enough," he said.

During a joint media interview with the media at State House on Sunday night, Ruto said Ogolla was among the individuals in the Nationals Security Council accused of attempts to overturn his victory in the August 2022 presidential poll.

"I appointed General Ogolla. He was among the people who went to Bomas to try and overturn my victory. But when I looked at his CV he was the best person to become general, I called him and sat him down, I told him, my friend, you went to Bomas to try and overturn my victory but because you are the best person to be general, I'm going to give you the job," Ruto said.

The Head of State said it was possible Ogolla was only acting on orders from the former President, Uhuru Kenyatta.
