High-net-worth individuals in Kenya are rapidly reshaping their portfolios, shifting capital toward alternative and high-growth sectors.

According to the Knight Frank Wealth Report 2026 (Kenya Edition), affluent investors are heavily prioritizing data centres and logistics facilities to tap into the digital economy.

Additionally, there is a significant surge in funding toward professionally managed rental housing, Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs), and renewable energy-enabled assets like solar and wind systems.

Conversely, traditional residential real estate is losing its lustre among the elite.

The report indicates a strategic retreat from the luxury market, with wealthy buyers actively reducing their capital allocations in both second homes and luxury homes.
