Raila turns 71, celebrates birthday at Capitol Hill

Cord leader Raila Odinga celebrated his 71st birthday on Thursday with family and close friends in his Capitol hill office.

Raila a veteran politician held the closed ceremony, a few days after commemorating the first anniversary since the passing on of his first born son Fidel Odinga.

The Opposition leader was born on January 7, 1945 in Maseno, Kisumu to Oginga Odinga and Mary Juma.

The former Premier did not celebrate his 70th birthday as it coincided with the public viewing of Fidel Odinga’s body on January 7, 2015.

Among those who celebrated Raila was his daughter Rosemary Odinga who took to social media to wish her father a happy birthday.

“Happy Birthday to you Dear Dad. Thank you for being the best history teacher I have ever had, you are the coolest,” she said.

Political analyst Mutahi posted “

Happy Birthday Raila Odinga. Although I disagree violently with your Self-Cannibalising methods, you remain my favourite Political Animal."

TV show host Jeff Koinange also posted “Happy Birthday to you as well, Sweetie… and to Baba too.”
