Overnight oats are raw rolled oats that are combined with milk or yoghurt and seasoned before being left to soften in the fridge overnight.

The oats are meant to be eaten cold, but some people prefer having them warm, which is also acceptable.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup vanilla Greek Yogurt/ plain yoghurt
  • 2- 3 tablespoons of honey
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk (optional)
  • 1 ½ cups old-fashioned oats
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • Raisins (optional)
  • berries for topping

Preparation

Step 1

In a large bowl, mix together yoghurt, honey, and vanilla. Stirring until the mixture is smooth.

Step 2

Add milk and stir until combined then add oatmeal, salt, and cinnamon and stir until mixture is uniform.

Step 3

Pour into your mason jars, and seal the lids.

Step 4

Place in the refrigerator to chill overnight or for at least 5-6 hours.

Serve with fresh berries, raisins a drizzle of peanut butter. Enjoy cold or warm!
