It is just a matter of days before a parastatal in the Ministry of Energy pays out Sh8 million in what insiders say is a fishy deal. The money could end up in the pockets of some directors. The cash is allegedly meant to pay a pre-qualified contractor who was to provide entertainment services during a function which was to be graced by President Uhuru Kenyatta (pictured). However, the function was put off at the last minute. The speed at which the invoice has been processed within days has raised eyebrows within the parastatal. Insiders have told Corridors that the amount is exaggerated and some individuals within the corporation could get a cut considering that there was no service provided. Could this be a case of unscrupulous officials trying tho sweep the accounts clean ahead of end of the financial year?

Supporters of a political stalwart are an infuriated lot after seeing photos of the man from the region making a huge cash donation to an educational cause in another part of the country. A resident told Corridors of Power that they believe charity begins at home and their son ought to be making such contributions in his backyard. Residents thought the politician was going through financial difficulties since he normally donates a few thousand shillings to churches and other social events. They were however surprised to see him give wads of cash to support education in another county yet his home area is worse off.

A budding party leader is gnashing his teeth with rage. Reason? Word has it that the man is on the verge of losing ownership of his political party that had set its eyes on the August 2022 General Election. The secretary general of the party that had started activating its grassroots network in readiness to benefit from the fallouts from the big outfits has vanished with the registration certificate. The official is said to be in the process of writing to the office of the Registrar of Political Parties about the changes. The coup is reported to be instigated by the state.

A first-time lawmaker from Western Kenya took to social media last week to preach the Gospel after a church service, which he lauded as both refreshing and uplifting. But, ironically, the man seems to have lived the true meaning of preaching water and drinking wine. By his side was a bottle of beer standing next to the holy book, appearing to defeat the purpose of his message. The youthful MP attracted derision from his supporters who thought he was leading by setting a bad example to the youths of this country.
