Oga Obinna | Obinna's InstagramKenyan comedian, media personality, and content creator Steve Thompson Maghana, popularly known as Oga Obinna, has shared his experience being a father.
In an interview with Carrol Sonie on The CS Show on YouTube, the comedian explains how he raises his kids and how he balances being Oga Obinna, a comedian, and Steve, a father.
"When I'm in the house, I'm normally not a 'superstar'. I'm a dad, I'm a friend, I'm an enemy. Normally, when you are a dad, there are times you are an enemy," the father of five explained.
"I try to spend as much time as I can with them because there are times I'm very busy," he added.
In the interview, Oga Obinna revealed that he was not aware when his 5th child was born.
"I came to learn when my child was three, four months. And even the way I learned about it is very weird. I learned it from a third party," he revealed.
He revealed that he reached out to the mother and went for a DNA test, confirming that the child is his. The child was born on September 7, 2024, and she just turned 1 year old.
"I never planned for any of my kids, but I have myself to blame because I was reckless," Oga Obinna said. Before his 5th child, Obinna had four children from three different women, and they have been co-parenting.
"I'm taking care of my kids, I have even taken kids who are not mine," Obinna said.
The comedian also shared that he has adopted 9 children.
"Nearly all the kids I have adopted have either one parent or both," he revealed.
Obinna has not taken the children away from their parents, but he takes care of them as if they were his.
"Everything I'm doing for my kids, we're doing together, so we don't need to go to the papers because I'm not taking them from their mothers," Obinna remarked.
"Generally, I love kids!" Oga Obinna said, adding that he is manifesting for a baby boy in the future.
The father of five concluded by advising separated parents to co-exist for effective co-parenting.
