Kenyan content creator and strategist, Director Trevor, says Kenyans appear to be “punishing” Eve Mungai.

In an interview posted on the YouTube channel iQ Watson, Trevor explained that he believes the backlash against Eve is driven by a specific reason.

The comments come amid viral social media posts claiming that Eve Mungai is regretful and depressed. However, Eve has publicly denied these claims, insisting she does not regret breaking up with Trevor.

Speaking in the interview, Trevor also confirmed that the reports are false, noting that Eve would not put herself in such a position given the need to protect her brand.

"If you understand the online space, you would understand that she is going through something that looks like Kenyans want to punish her," Director Trevor said.

Trevor claims this is because Eve Mungai made a misstep by trying to show she is better than other Kenyans.

"When you try to show that you are better than them, of course, they will turn against you. And that's what I think is happening," he said.

"People want to force themselves to believe that she said that, for a reason, because they want to punish her," Trevor added, referring to the false reports about Eve Mungai’s alleged regret.

Trevor said Eve Mungai’s statement on her podcast that she cannot date a man who earns less than Sh500,000 is an example of how she alienated some fans.

He believes this comment created a disconnect with her audience, leading to ongoing criticism and online attacks.

The content strategist suggested that the solution to this disconnect would be for Eve Mungai to issue an apology to her fans.
