Rhumba Maestro Koffi Omolide is set to headline the much-anticipated Radio Africa Rhumba Concert in Nairobi, Kenya on December 9th, 2023.

The concert will be held at the ASK Dome, a new state-of-the-art venue found at the Jamhuri Showground on Ng'ong Road in Nairobi.

So as you prepare to dance the night away with Koffi in Nairobi, here are a few records he has set with his collaboration with Diamond Platnumz.

The two heavyweights have so far released two collaborations that took the airwaves by storm.

In July this year, the two teamed up a new tune dubbed “Achii” following the massive success of their 2020 collabo song Waah!

The song which was produced by Laizer Classic managed to garner over 1 million views in just 21 hours – joining the list of the most-watched songs within a short period.

This made Platnumz make it known that he had always admired Koffi and that having him in his songs was an absolute honour.

He went on to add that he has always been a Koffi Olomide fan – listening to his music since he was a small kid.

“Have been a big fan, watching and listening to @koffiolomide_officiel Music with my Family since when I was a little kid, that’s why am always excited and happy working with him, to me it always feels like a dream come true…I’m super grateful for the way he always makes sure that we do not just do a song, but we do an Anthem🙏🏼, and here we go again #Achii 🔥🚀,” Diamond said.

The new collaboration between Chibu Dangote and Koffi came barely three years after they set and broke their records with the song "Waah".

This was a new milestone to be achieved by an African artiste based on the fact that the Waah video managed to clock over 2 million in less than 24 hours.

The singer made Sh4.2 million from the song "Waah" at a time when it had accumulated 39 million views. Currently, the song has over 147 million views within 3 years of being on YouTube.

The song “WAAAH” garnered over 1 million views in 8 hours and 2 million views in 13 hours on YouTube.

This was a new milestone to be achieved by an African artiste based on the fact that the Waah video managed to clock over 2 million in less than 24 hours.

The "Waah" video was directed by Director Kenny who used to work at a production company co-owned by Diamond.

"Thank you so much my beloved fans for the Record of 1 Million Youtube Viewers within 8 hours...it means a lot to me,” he said.

The Return of Koffi Olomide

The return of Koffi to the country has been described as unique and is eagerly awaited by his fans, as he has not been in the country for more than 5 years.

Just the other day, Koffi made a video on his Facebook page and confirmed his arrival, saying that his main goal is to show his Kenyan fans whom he recognizes as 'my brothers' how much he loves them at the show.

"Mopao is coming to Nairobi on the 8th and 9th of December. It will be hot, I will be returning to Kenya after many years. I missed them for a long time. I want to show you the depth of my love," Koffi said in the clip.
