NYS invites bidders for sale of machinery and electronics

Viewing will take place in various selected county field offices from August 29 to September 15.

The National Youth Service has invited interested bidders for the sale of unserviceable machinery, plant equipment, and electronics through public auction.

In a notice on Tuesday, the viewing will take place in various selected county field offices from August 29 to September 15.

"NYS hereby invites interested bidders for the sale of unserviceable motor vehicles, plant equipment, scraps, old tyres and tubes and other assorted items," the notice reads.

Interested bidders are to pay a deposit of Sh10,000 per lot, while those for machinery and plant equipment shall pay a deposit in cash of Sh20,000.

"For scrap materials, the bidder is to pay a deposit of Sh50,000 and for miscellaneous items, it shall be Sh5,000."

NYS said the money deposits are to be made before September 18 for bidding purposes.

"All the deposits are refundable to unsuccessful bidders and shall form part of purchase price for successful bidders."

Also, the bidders are to provide the bank slips for receipt and each of them to be forwarded to the respective field offices and for an MR receipt to be issued in each lot.

Bidding will require a bidding number that is issued upon production of an official receipt.

Successful bidders are to pay 25 per cent of the purchase price within 24 hours and the balance is to be paid within 14 days.

County Auction Centers/ Units

In Nairobi County, the auctioning will be at the Nairobi Holdings Unit Ruaraka from August 29 to 30.

In Homabay County, the auctioning centre will be the Lambwe Development Unit on August 29.

At Nakuru County, the auctioning unit on August 29 will be at the Tumaini Farm Unit while the NYS College Gilgil and NYS Technical Training Institute Naivasha will be the auction centre on August 30.

At Kisumu County, Kisumu Station will on August 30 be the auctioning centre.

In Uasin Ngishu County, View in Kerio Valley field unit auction in Turbo will be the auction center on August 31.

In Machakos County, the auction unit will be the Yatta field Unit on September 4 and Mavoloni Field Unit on September 5.

In Samburu County, the auction center on September 5 will be at the Kirimuni Field Unit.

In Lamu County, the auction unit will be the Hindi Development Unit on September 4 and at Witu Development Unit on September 5.

In Mombasa County, the auction center will be at the NYS Technical College Mombasa (NYSTC) on September 7.
