Did a high ranking politico openly rebuke a senior government officer during the State of the Nation Address on Thursday? A mole within the Corridors of Power whispered that the heavyweight even snubbed shaking hands with him despite the officer stretching his hand. The politico was overheard telling him off and walked swiftly past him, as security orderlies closed in to isolate the officer behind him. The officer retreated slowly and went to sit at the designated place as some leaders watched the drama unfolded. The big politico has no kind words for the man amid fears that the tensions could explode in the coming days.

A senior government officer who served in the previous administration is said to be working behind-the-scenes to broker a political deal between the current administration and an influential national figure. The public servant has reportedly held some meetings with the politician outside Nairobi, where a deal has been floated although there has been no any concrete agreement. It is said the public officer is working as an intermediary of the powers that be, to prepare the ground for the much anticipated working arrangement in the coming months. Those aware of the closely guarded details say it is only a matter of time before the pact is sealed.

A politician from a strategic region is crying foul that he has been relegated to the periphery despite working so hard during the last campaigns. The MP has been firing hard-hitting statements on social media against his coalition. In the latest post on one of the accounts, the politician hit out at one of the leaders of the partner parties, saying the man had become so insensitive about the plight of Kenyans. What followed was a barrage of attacks from perceived "online warriors" of the party leaders, who termed the MP a traitor and ungrateful politician. The situation might get worse in the coming months after the MP declared he could be running for a senior county position.
