In Summary

•The government will not any time soon be formed without it drawing its agenda from a political party or coalition manifesto in that matter.

•Internal wrangles within the party always breed splinter groups with each advocating for divergent views.

Political parties have held a huge influence on the question of who takes power and where.

The government will not any time soon be formed without it drawing its agenda from a political party or coalition manifesto in that matter.

This is just a confirmatory test of the potency of political parties in the leadership matrix.

Unluckily, the sacredness of party loyalty in Kenya is an extinct virtue.

Internal wrangles within the party always breed splinter groups with each advocating for divergent views.

The crafters of the 2010 constitution were seeking to instil sanity in the political parties by introducing clauses that would bar irrational behaviour and foster party loyalty but this seems to be an underrated clause.

A good example is the current ruling party which is as good as disorganized based on the rift that has occurred between the party leader and his deputy with each one of them pulling out with their supporters to their corner.

It is unreasonable that a national party like Jubilee will end up with members pro and against when it comes to finding a solution on contentious matters like the Building Bridges Initiative.

What was the work of parliamentary group meetings, was it not for crafting a unison decision?

It is in the public that members advocate for other political parties agenda and swear allegiance far from those that sponsored them into their positions by which this contravenes the political parties act as enshrined in the constitution.

Kenyans are tired of the mind games being showcased by leaders in their political parties and it could be honourable enough for them to follow the laid down rules of the parties.

Either way, they could consider submitting their resignation as per the law for them to secure a fresh mandate in their preferred political parties.

We need reformed and well behaved political parties for unity and development enhancement.
