Kisumu Central MP Ken Obura has dismissed results of the repeat polls held in the constituency on Tuesday.
Obura said votes from nine polling stations were not included in the final tally which was used to declare the winner.
This was after Gem Central MCA Fred Ouda was named the winner of the ODM ticket with 6,694 votes.
He was followed by former TNA secretary general Onyango Oloo who got 4,991 votes.
Obura garnered 1,040 whereas Richard Ogendo and ex-Kisumu mayor Sam Okello got 879 and 571 votes respectively.
The were the results from 36 out of 45 polling stations as announced by returning officer Samson Odoyo.
"The results that were not included were from polling stations in my strongholds," Obura said on Wednesday.
He claimed the results were sent via SMS and that the tally was not carried out at the central centre.
"The results were relayed immediately the POs finished counting. We expected this to be done at the tallying center."
But Odoyo said presiding officers at the nine stations abandoned ballot boxes at the tallying centre.
"They disappeared hence we did not include the results in the final tally," he said.
However, the incumbent dismissed the claim saying the POs were instructed not to declare the results.
Police officers were forced to fire in the air to disperse youths who were protesting the delays in the tallying process.
The repeat poll was marred by confusion, low voter turnout and delays.
