Garissa Township MP Aden Duale now wants the newly appointed acting inspector general of police Noor Gabow to protect Kenyans and their properties.
In a statement on Friday, Duale said that Gabow should desist from taking and making illegal orders on the ongoing Supreme Court election petition.
"Mr Gabow, acting IG, do not succumb to undue pressure to sabotage, coerce or cajole the Judiciary and especially the Supreme Court as it renders the most consequential judgement in Kenya’s election history," Duale said.
The MP said that the acting IG has a sensitive task of protecting the people of Kenya as he takes up the role.
He added that Gabow should not take part in interfering with Kenya's democratic process.
"My Brother and deputy Inspector General of Police Noor Gabow must be alive to the evil machinations of the failed deep state to interfere with Kenya’s Democratic Process," Duale said.
He said that Gabow should not accept orders to initiate unjustified transfers of police heads and those in the judiciary.
He said Kenyans and the international community are closely watching the developments in the police service and the judiciary.
"I humbly remind Gabow that any criminal culpability rests on an individual," Duale said.
On Friday the Inspector General Hillary Mutyambai nominated his deputy Gabow to take up his role after he fell sick.
Mutyambai said that he will be away for a medical check up break.
Duale wished him a quick recovery.
