Top Azimio leaders led by Executive director Raphael Tuju and head of the campaign team Nderitu Murithii are currently holed up in a meeting at the Bomas of Kenya.

Tuju arrived moments ago and headed straight to the Bomas pavilion room where Nderitu and Governor Charity Ngilu were waiting.

Bomas is the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission's national tallying centre.

Security is tight around the building with media personnel denied access.

The high-level Azimio meeting happens even as the commission started receiving and verifying presidential election results forms from constituency returning officers.

Returning officers from all the 290 constituencies are required to physically deliver the documents to the national tallying centre.

By 2 pm Thursday, only one returning officer had delivered the documents.
