Charlene later on visited the Odinga family home at Opoda Farm and condoled with Mama Ida Odinga.
A steady stream of leaders from across the political divide has continued to visit Raila’s home in Bondo to condole with his widow, Ida.
Among the early visitors was President William Ruto, who graced Raila’s burial on October 19, 2025, and described the veteran politician as a “towering statesman” who dedicated his life to Kenya’s democracy and unity.

The President said Raila’s passing marked “the end of an era,” noting that his resilience and sacrifices would remain a guiding light for generations.
Other prominent persons who have also visited the Bondo home are former President Uhuru Kenyatta, Azimio la Umoja leaders, and a host of governors, senators, and MPs from across the country.
Uhuru eulogised Raila as “a patriot who put the country above self,” while Azimio leaders praised him for his lifelong struggle for justice and good governance.

Religious leaders, diplomats, and citizens have continued to stream into the homestead, with many describing the mood as somber but dignified.
Ida, surrounded by family, has been thanking Kenyans for their messages of support and solidarity, saying the outpouring of love has given the family during this difficult time.
