The Premier League midweek round of games continues on Wednesday with six important matches that affect the top and bottom of the table.

Arsenal is at home to a Brentford side that appears to have found its feet under new coach Keith Andrews, but whether that is going to be enough to stop the league leaders in the Emirates Stadium is another question.

Mikel Arteta's side will be frustrated it wasn't able to take all three points from Sunday's game against Chelsea, who played for around an hour with 10 men - although a point away to a title rival away from home in a London derby is far from a bad result.

Manchester City could move to within two points of Arsenal with a win away to Fulham on Tuesday, but if they slip up, Arsenal has a good chance to extend its lead at the top.

Chelsea visits a Leeds United that is starting to slip into crisis and although Daniel Farke will be pleased at the personality his side showed in its fightback against Manchester City, another defeat could edge him closer to the sack.

With another home game against Liverpool at the weekend, Farke needs Leeds' Elland Road Stadium to be as hostile as possible for its rivals.

Chelsea is without Moises Caicedo after his red card against Arsenal and coach Enzo Maresca has advanced that Reece James won't start after his huge effort at the weekend.

Liverpool ended its dreadful recent form with a 2-0 win away to West Ham on Sunday, with Arne Slot dropping Mohamed Salah for the game that saw Alexander Isak score his first goals for the club.

Slot's side now entertain an impressive Sunderland and despite questions over Salah, the Liverpool coach had nothing but praise for the striker, saying on Tuesday morning he had "been so outstanding for this club for so many years and will be for the future."

Elsewhere, fifth place Brighton is at home to fourth placed Aston Villa in what looks like a fascinating game between two sides in their best form of the season.

Second from bottom Burnley has to end a run of four consecutive defeats in a vital match at home to Crystal Palace, where doubts have started to grow over the long-term future of coach Oliver Glasner over the club's lack of activity in the transfer market.

Finally, Wolverhampton continues to look for the first win of the season when Nottingham Forest is the visitor. Forest has improved considerably since Sean Dyche took over as coach, and despite a weekend defeat to Brighton, three points at Molineux would lift the club further away from the relegation zone.
