Mining Cabinet Secretary Hassan Joho has assured President William Ruto that the Coast leaders will support him until 2032.

Speaking when Ruto hosted the leaders at State House, Nairobi on Tuesday, Joho insisted that Coast leaders will do the jobs assigned to them diligently and with integrity.

He said the leaders will work hard to better the lives of their people so that they can all prosper.

The CS said that anyone who does not want that, it is up to them, but the people of the Coast want development.

“I want to assure you of utmost support. We will do the work you have given us to better the lives and unite the people so that we all can prosper.

“We will do the work you have given us with integrity and honesty, and we will continue to unite our leaders so that we can move forward from now until 2027 and 2032 going forward. That is the commitment we have made. Those who do not want it’s up to them, for u,s we want development,” Joho said.

He added that under Ruto’s Presidency, it is the first time leaders from the Coast region have united under a leader.

He noted that previously, there were divisions among the leaders, but that is now a thing of the past.

Joho further stated that the leaders from the Coast region are now issue-driven when they meet, they only discuss what affects the people they represent.

“Your Excellency, the leaders you see here, it is the first time they have united solidly, it has never been like this. There have always been two conflicting sides, and I feel very encouraged because they are issue-driven. When they sit ,they discuss issues that affect the people they lead,” the CS said.

Ruto hosted leaders who included Cabinet Secretaries and elected leaders in all levels from Mombasa, Tana River, Kilifi, Lamu, Kwale, and Taita Taveta Counties.
