Deputy President Kithure Kindiki inspects Gwa Kiongo-Gituamba-Kabazi Road in Ol Kalou, Nyandarua County/DPCS
Speaking during the inspection of Gwa Kiongo-Gituamba-Kabazi Road in Ol Kalou, Nyandarua County, Kindiki insisted that the role of government is not to incite the people either.
The 27.5 km road is being funded by the government to a tune of Sh1.1 billion.
He reiterated that those who want to politic should wait for 2027, and they will meet in the field.
The DP said the Kenya Kwanza administration is focused on building roads, markets, and ensuring last-mile connectivity.
He noted that mixing politics with work will only hurt the citizens.
“The work of government is not to incite; it is to take care of the needs of the people. The time for politics will come. It is not that we don’t know politics; we know that there is time for everything. This is the time to build roads, markets, and electricity.
“We have more work that we must do, and because things have stabilized a bit and we have money for new projects and completion of stalled ones,” Kindiki said.
He reiterated that his work is to assist and support the president to deliver on his mandate.
“My work is to assist the President to deliver roads, markets, better prices for farm produce, and development projects to every part of the country. That is my work.”
He assured residents of Nyandarua that roads will not stall again.
The Deputy President said it will not only be done in Ol Kalou but will also include reviving stalled roads in Ndaragwa, Kipipiri, Ol Jorok, and Kinangop constituencies and across the country to ensure the nation is opened up for business and economic growth.
“Apart from roads, we also have markets under construction in Nyandarua County, including Ol Kalou and many more in every constituency nationally.
“Once the roads are complete, farmers will easily deliver fresh produce like cabbage, carrots, potatoes, and milk to the market on time; that is why we want them completed without further delays.”
