Police have said that an autopsy on the body of slain Kasipul MP Ong'ondo Were will be conducted on Monday, May 5, 2025.

The exercise will be led by the Chief Government Pathologist Dr. Johansen Oduor.

It is aimed at giving further analysis into the cause of the MP's death.

"An autopsy led by Chief Government Pathologist Dr. Johansen Oduor is scheduled for Monday, May 5, 2025, to provide further insights into the cause of death and support the investigation," the National Police Service said in the lates update on the case.

The legislator was shot dead on Wednesday evening.

The police noted that detectives have forensically reconstructed the late MP's movements from Parliament to the location of the shooting and have narrowed down on possible suspects.

"This detailed analysis has yielded significant leads, enabling investigators to narrow down to potential suspects.

"While the motive for this heinous act remains under investigation, preliminary investigations suggest that this was a targeted and premeditated act."

The DCI is pursuing all angles to uncover the circumstances surrounding this incident.
