AFC, a Development Finance Institution (DFI) wholly owned by the government, operates under the Ministry of Agriculture. The corporation's core mandate is to provide affordable credit and financial support to farmers, agribusinesses and agricultural value chain players with the objective of improving agricultural productivity, enhancing food security, and contributing to economic growth.
Through the latest recruitment exercise, AFC is seeking experienced professionals who will help improve service delivery and enhance the corporation's operational efficiency.
According to the advertisement, the corporation has declared five categories of vacancies. One position is available for the Chief Human Capital and Administration Officer, who will oversee human resource management and administrative functions within the organisation.
AFC is also recruiting one Corporation Secretary and Chief Legal Services Officer, a senior management position responsible for providing legal guidance, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and advising the corporation on governance matters.
Additionally, the corporation is seeking to fill one Head of Legal (Re-advertisement) position, indicating that the role had previously been advertised but remained vacant.
Four vacancies have been announced for legal officers, while three positions are available for legal assistants, bringing the total number of advertised vacancies to 10.
To streamline the recruitment process and manage the anticipated high number of applications, AFC has directed interested applicants to submit their applications electronically through its online recruitment portal.
Applicants are required to attach a cover letter, an updated Curriculum Vitae (CV), copies of academic and professional certificates, a copy of their ID card , and any other supporting documents relevant to the position being applied for.
The corporation has set Monday, August 3 at 5.00 pm as the deadline for submitting applications. AFC has urged interested candidates to ensure that all required documents are uploaded before the deadline, noting that late applications may not be considered.
The advertisement further states that successful candidates will be required to present several compliance documents in line with Chapter Six of the Constitution on leadership and integrity.
These include a Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), a Tax Compliance Certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), a Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), and a Clearance Certificate from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
Prospective applicants have also been advised to visit the corporation's website to access detailed job descriptions, qualifications, experience requirements, and responsibilities for each advertised position before submitting their applications.
