A powerful executive committee member of a county in Rift Valley is under fire for allegedly “stealing” someone’s wife together with her child. The official is reported to have settled with the woman as his second wife in a neighbouring county. The helpless and agonising man whose wife was "stolen" is said to be pondering how he could win back the love of his life. He is a jua kali trader in one of the major towns in the county.

Still on counties, one that was once the preferred destination for benchmarking by other devolved units is said to be on its death bed. All flagship projects initiated by the former governor that made the county shine in matters of devolution have allegedly stalled, with no new ones coming up as wanton theft allegedly takes centre stage. An insider told Corridors of Power that the county has been seized by cartels operating in every department.

Some MCAs from Nyanza are said to have  hatched a plot to remove a senior official over conflict of interest. The ward reps are aggrieved that the top official has a close relative purportedly working in his officer and holding a senior position. The official has maintained that he sees nothing wrong with working with a relative in the same office. The official believes the machinations are supposedly being orchestrated by hungry MCAs who are reportedly used to handouts.
