First daughter Charlene Ruto has created a buzz online after American televangelist Pastor Benny Hinn prayed for her to get a husband.

During the Healing the Nation crusade held at Nyayo Stadium, Charlene was prayed for to have God's power and anointing as she went about serving the youth of the country.

The televangelist held a mega crusade at Nyayo Stadium on 24-25, February 2024.

"Okay, you want me to pray for that? Straighten your hands towards her.. give her a husband that would fulfil that call with her, Lord send her way that young man that will be her strength and her great supporter," Hinn prayed.

But Who is Charlene Ruto?

Charlene has been causing buzzes on social media with her ‘outrageous acts from admitting to selling smokies in school, dancing on her Instagram page to loving farming’ something that is not seen by elites.

President William Ruto's third-born daughter Charlene Chelagat Ruto is a Daystar University graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Communication. She has also studied abroad for her Master's.

Charlene holds a Master of Business Administration from Les Roches Crans-Montana in Switzerland and was a Foreign Exchange student at Northwestern College between August 2012 to January 2013.

She worked at Mobile Decisioning Holding Limited as a Media Relations Officer between May 2015 to May 2017.

Since 2018, Charlene has been the Director of Public Relations and Branding at Weston Hotel.

Charlene became the topic of discussion after Kenyans raised concerns as to why she has been visiting different county assemblies, having meetings with governors and running different initiatives.

She has had 40 local and International engagements.

Charlene has had meetings with eight governors and met five deputy governors.

She engaged with four speakers from different county assemblies.

Charlene has also met students in various schools and community leaders.

Kenyans have since compared her to former US President Donald Trump's daughter Ivanka Trump.

When her father was elected into office, Ivanka accompanied him as an unofficial adviser.

Charlene caused a buzz on social media after she claimed that she sold 'smokies' while at the university.

She said the smokies were the only thing that was selling at the time.

"I was in Daystar University and smokie kachumbari was the only thing that was selling, I was encouraged to take up the small business," she said.

The video received mixed reactions among Kenyans, with some tweeps claiming that she was lying.

However, she defended her claims by saying that she had witnesses.

"I was somewhere talking to some university students. We were talking about savings and investment, so I thought to encourage them and tell them my story when I used to sell smokie kachumbari at Daystar," she said.

Charlene caused yet another social media storm after she said that she holds the Office of the First Daughter.

Charlene said her office is not tax-payer funded.

In December, Charlene alongside Environment Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya was among the 100 most influential women of the year by Avance Media.

The edition was the fifth and honoured leading women from 31 African countries chosen for their exceptional contributions to various sectors in the region.

The 2023 cohort featured 24 diplomats, 20 business leaders, six climate change leaders, 21 leaders in civil society organizations and philanthropy.
