President William Ruto will today wrap up his three-day development tour of Meru with visits to three constituencies of South Imenti, Central and North.

In a schedule of activities, Ruto who is accompanied by his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua will be in South Imenti in the morning where he is set to officially open the Mitunguu Technical and Vocational Training Institute and also launch a state-of-the-art ICT lab.

He will also launch the construction of the Igoji-Mworoga-Maraa road and later preside over the groundbreaking ceremony for the Mwichiune economic stimulus program.

Thereafter, he is set to address residents at Nkubu market, area MP Shardack Mwiti said.

Later in the afternoon, the Head of State will be in Central Imenti where is scheduled to launch the affordable housing project at Mwendantu.

On Friday, President Ruto and his team were in Igembe Central, Igembe North, and Igembe South.

Ruto’s visit to the county came amidst the political squabbles pitting Governor Kawira Mwangaza and a section of elected leaders from the region.

This became evident during a meeting at Kiutine in Igembe central with Mwangaza being jeered by a section of youth said to have been sponsored by particular leaders as she tried to address the crowd.

The situation forced Ruto to issue a warning saying he was not going to tolerate heckling at his functions or the function of any leader.

Noting the incident was regrettable, Ruto called for respect among leaders saying power is with the people and they are the ones to give the scorecard of each of them

"I want every leader to be respected. This heckling behaviour is a preserve of the Azimio and is a thing by ODM," he said.

The heckling started after he ordered that Governor Kawira Mwangza be given the microphone to speak.

The governor tried in vain to address the crowd amid jeers from the placard-waving youth.
