Safaricom has gifted its Mpesa customers with cash following Tuesday's interruption.

In a message the company sent to this writer, Safaricom thanked customers for their patience as the interruption was being fixed.

"Please enjoy some cash back as a token of our gratitude, we appreciate you."

Safaricom went on to send Sh20 to the writer.

"Confirmed, you have received Sh20 from Mpesa offers."

Mpesa services went down for hours, with Safaricom confirming the incident.

When users tried to transact through M-Pesa, a message popped up indicating; "The parameters of data sources are null null".

The same error was experienced while trying to transact through the M-Pesa app.

"All M-Pesa services are now available. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience as we worked to restore services," Safaricom said in a statement.
