President William Ruto on Tuesday hosted Director General International Labour Organization Gilbert Houngbo at State House.

Through his X account, Ruto said Houngbo praised the country’s Universal Healthcare scheme and plans to sign labour agreements with other countries.

He said they were harnessing the partnership so as to also enhance employment promotion.

"The International Labour Organization has played a vital role in shoring up our efforts to advance social justice and internationally recognised human and labour rights in the country.

We are harnessing this partnership to strengthen the capabilities of the labour market institutions and enhance employment promotion," Ruto said.
