Law Society of Kenya Vice President Faith Odhiambo has said quack lawyers will not be allowed to practice in the profession, even after regularizing the status.

She said individuals accused of stealing the identity of genuine advocates and masquerading as lawyers should forget about ever being licensed.

Speaking on Monday during an interview with Hot 96, she said such people will not practice law even after studying and getting the requisite qualifications.

"I know they can study law, but they will never practice in Kenya. When anybody applies for admission to the bar, the registrar of the Judiciary writes to the society as a way of due diligence. So the word of the society will matter," she said.

"So let them forget about law in Kenya. Maybe they try admission in Tanzania or Uganda."
