Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has praised his boss President William Ruto over his recent international duties.
Speaking during the United Democratic Alliance party NGC held at Bomas on Friday, Gachagua said the head of state has been internationally recognised and has made Kenya proud not only in Africa but around the globe.
"Your performance on the international stage has been nothing but excellence and excellence, you have made us proud. For the successful hosting of the Africa Climate Summit and your performance at the UNGA, you did well Your Excellency," he said.
The DP added that Ruto has been championed as a leader who can front African issues on the world stage.
"We thank you our president."
He added that the president has put the country on the right trajectory of economic revival noting that the Kenya Kwanza administration inherited a country that had economic issues.
"Hakuna mtu hajui the country you inherited. Tulipata matatizo mengi, but through well-thought-out economic interventions we have started seeing signs of economic recovery," he noted.
"One of the clearance signs is that at the end of the 2022/23 financial year, your government disbursed the last penny to the county government and we don't owe them a cent."
Gachagua also urged the UDA leaders to be the ambassadors of the government.
"You will be at the forefront to tell Kenyans what is happening so that they may not be fed by negative propaganda by our political enemies."
On matters of UDA, the DP said the party will be around for the next century as a party with ideology.
One occasion where Gachagua referred to that he was amazed by his boss is during the Africa Climate Summit where he praised Ruto for leading other African leaders to firmly declare the continent's firm stand on climate change.
He said the president had shown admirable leadership to bring together the leaders to come up with a clear position on the matter.
"Kenya is now respected in Africa and globally because of the President's leadership during the Africa Climate Summit. We are proud that African leaders have recognised our President's leadership," Gachagua said
