Worldcoin operators paid a total of Sh448,920 for use of KICC, Parliamentary committee inquiring into its activities heard Thursday.
Institution's CEO Patricia Ondeng said the amount covered four days beginning July 29 to August 1.
Ondeng who was appearing before the MPs explained that they received a request on July 28 from Expo Momentum for product activation through Evarline Adongo and upon payment of the sum they reserved the grounds for them.
"The client visited our marketing office and was attended to by one of our sales offices who manages the Expo account," she said.
The organisers, she indicated, utilised their own branded tents to engage the public. Following the lapse of the four-day exercise, she said, a request for an extension of 13 more days was sought but rejected.
"The request was declined due to concerns from the management that the event had attracted long crowds that led to long queues affecting the flow of traffic along the City Hall way," she said.
However, the MPs became curious about the manner in which the request was 'easily' approved by the management.
Kisumu East MP Shakeel Shabbir wondered how a request by a private client could be processed in a single day yet a previous one by MPs took long.
In response, Ondeng came to its defence terming it a "valued client with whom we have collaborated on numerous events in the past".
She cited the 2022 FIFA World Cup tour which she said fetched a revenue of Sh1.3 million and Qatar winners" flagoff which generated Sh600,000.
