The civil society has urged the state to also hold a requiem mass for the police officers they claim were killed by protesters.

The government has strongly defended the conduct of the police during the demonstrations and claimed that some officers lost their lives while many more were injured by protests.

Representing the sector during a requiem service for the victims of alleged police brutality, Suba Churchill claimed the Kenya Kwanza administration was living in fear.

"We challenge them to also hold a requiem mass for the police officers whom they say were killed by protesters," he said.

"Some leaders were talking about the sanctity of private property yet they allegedly sponsored goons to steal sheep from former president Uhuru Kenya's Northlands farm."

Churchill said as a sector, they have spoken and shall continue to speak about these excesses.

"We have seen them steal livestock and sell property on the open roadside yet they are talking about protection of property," he said.
