Some Meru county MCAs have urged the national government to come to their aid claiming that Governor Kawira Mwangaza is frustrating them again.

On Wednesday, the MCAs led by deputy speaker Ali Mwenda said Mwangaza's leadership style has left them in confusion.

"The rains have started to beat us again," Mwenda said.

He claimed that Mwangaza has started demeaning everybody.

"Mwangaza wants to run the county like a family affair," he said.

Mwenda said other MCAs are afraid of speaking on the issue because they fear being villainised by the governor.

Additionally, he claimed that County Secretary Kiambi Atheru is usurping roles meant for the governor.

He claimed the two were running the county like dictators.

"The issue we have with Mwangaza and Atheru is that they behave like dictators. Because they want to force things down our throats. They do things in their own way without consulting anybody," he said.

They appealed to President William Ruto and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to go back to Meru and do a follow-up following last year's impeachment attempt on Mwangaza.

"We want to tell Ruto and Gachagua that all is not okay. Everything is not okay in Meru. The problem that we had previously that led us to the Senate is back again," Mwenda said.

In his opinion, the team that went to Nairobi to negotiate peace in Meru should be recalled to investigate what the issue is.

Efforts to reach Mwangaza for a comment on the claims proved futile as she neither picked our calls nor returned our texts.
