A 12-year-old girl was left traumatised after her mother died by suicide in Ngara, Nairobi.

The body of the 36-year-old was Sunday found hanging on the door of their bathroom.

She had hanged herself using a scarf.

The girl was going to the bathroom when she stumbled on the body.

She then called her father to inform him of the incident.

Police were called to the scene and moved the body to the mortuary pending autopsy and probe.

The motive of the incident is yet to be known, police said.

Meanwhile, a suspect on the run drowned as he was being chased by a mob in Rongai, Nakuru.

Police said the incident happened in Legetio village where one Samuel Lolelia, 30, had allegedly attacked and stabbed Francis Kipchirchir Kimaiyo, 33, killing him on the spot due to unknown issues.

Police said a mob gathered at the scene and started to chase him and he ran towards Molo River where he dived to escape but he drowned.

Officers who visited the scene said they found the deceased lying down with a visible cut wound on the back of the head, left hand and right shoulder.

The suspect’s body was retrieved from the river by local divers, police said.

Both bodies were moved to the Nakuru Municipal County morgue pending autopsy and further probe.
