Knec offices at Dennis Pritt are coloured and pampered, a normal scene during the release of national exams results but today it's a different occasion.
A sombre mood engulfed the area as the caravan carrying the body of former Education CS George Magoha snaked through Dennis Pritt road.
As always cars are being directed to park elsewhere and not within the premises.
During those happy days of exam results release, scribes would wait for Magoha to finish presenting the results at State House before he makes his way to Mitihani House.
But today Magoha silently makes his way to Knec offices in a hearse — a brown casket.
Magoha died last month at the age of 71 at Nairobi Hospital following a cardiac arrest.
He was reportedly rushed to the facility after falling ill.
Prof Magoha was known as a tough-talking and no-nonsense CS during his time at the Education ministry.
President William Ruto has mourned Magoha as a unique, gifted and great servant of Kenya, adding that he feels privileged to have known and worked with the former Education Cabinet Secretary.
