Trade and Investment CS Moses Kuria has appointed Jeremiah Kinyua as the chairperson of the National Standards Council.
The CS through a gazette notice dated January 20 said the appointment which takes place immediately will be for three years.
“The Cabinet Secretary for Trade, Investment and Industry appoints Jeremiah Kamau Kinyua to be the chairperson of the National Standards Council for three years with effect from the 20th January, 2o23,” Kuria said.
Other appointments include Lawrence Chelimo, Paul Musyimi and Hardlyne Lusui who have been given roles as members of the Financial Inclusion Fund by the CS for Cooperatives Simon Chelugui.
The three will be holding the office for three years.
National Treasury CS Njuguna Ndung’u also made appointments to the Kenya Deposit Insurance Corporation board.
The members are Hannah Muriithi, Melissa Ngania, Anne Lengerded, James Akali and Joseph Kipkemoi who will be expected to hold the respective offices for three years with immediate effect.
This comes even as President William Ruto made four more new parastatal appointments across various state-owned corporations.
In a gazette notice dated January 20, 2023, President Ruto appointed Hannah Waitherero to be the Chairperson of the board of Directors of the Kenya Deposit Insurance Corporation for three years.
She will immediately take over from Carol Musyoka whose appointment has been revoked.
Irene Muthoni has likewise been named to be the Non- executive chairperson of the board of the Financial Inclusion Fund for three years with effect from January 13.
