The late city tycoon Tob Cohen’s sister has appealed to President William Ruto to intervene in her brother’s murder case that might be withdrawn today.

In a TV interview with a Dutch TV station, Gabriele Van Straten said the decision by DPP to withdraw the case has shocked her.

“Dear President Ruto, please don’t let the murderers of my brother walk free,” she said.

Gabriele has also written a letter to her foreign minister Hoekstra asking for help to find justice for the death of her brother she says this is her last hope.

Last week, the DPP made an application seeking to withdraw the murder charge and register it as an inquest thereby removing widow Sarah Cohen and Peter Karanja from the case.

Gabriele said she received a phone call informing her that her brother’s murder case was being withdrawn.

“It’s terrible, I have aged 10 years overnight no one had expected this,” she said.

She said all she has ever wanted in the matter is justice.

“I always said justice has to prevail I don’t care about the house there is hardly anything left of it,” she said.

Gabriele said it’s not fair if people get away with the murder.

“We are stuck for an answer I have no idea what will happen next, we need help,” she said

The court will on Tuesday, December 6, deliver a ruling on whether it will allow the DPP’s application to withdraw the case.

Gabriele through her lawyers Cliff Ombeta and Danstan Omari had opposed the application saying she was never consulted or informed that the case was being withdrawn.
