Two men accused of luring a minor before holding her hostage were on Thursday charged at a Kibera court.
Alex Wambua and Sammy Mwana were charged before Kibera senior principal magistrate Monica Maroro.
They, however, denied the charges.
According to the charge sheet, the offence was committed between September4-6 at Ndwaru in Dagoretti.
The girl, 14, was in Kitui when she received a phone call from one of the accused persons.
The Form 2 student later travelled to Nairobi after days of speaking to one of the accused persons.
It is then that her family started looking for her.
The matter was reported to the police leading to the arrest of the suspects.
They urged the court to release them on lenient bond terms.
Maroro released them on Sh500,000 bond with a surety of the same amount.
The matter will be mentioned after two weeks.
The court directed the accused persons be supplied with witness statements and documentary evidence that the prosecution will rely on.
