The Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) has sealed a partnership with the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) to support businesses in Kenya.

The deal was signed by KNCCI president Richard Ngatia and FCCI head of international events Estelle Gillot Valet at the French Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday.

Ngatia said both parties would work toward expanding trade and investment opportunities in the country.

“We plan to support business incubators, digital technology, apprenticeship, SMEs programs, benchmarking, exhibitions and events with the Kenyan business industry," he said while unveiling the deal.

“We will be hosting FCCI in 2023 in Kenya to showcase the available business opportunities and enhance our partnership towards trade development,” Ngatia said.

“KNCCI will focus on ICT, logistics, agriculture, hospitality and infrastructure to expand its partnership with French companies,” he added.

Ngatia pointed out that the partnership aims to create business opportunities and financing for KNCCI SMEs in Kenya.

He revealed that he will soon be holding talks with key representatives of the French Chamber of Commerce and BPIFteerance, Medef International and Ambition Africa.

A business delegation previously deployed by KNCCI to France in search of potential markets oversaw growth in Kenyan exports between $77M in 2019 and $91M in 2021 in the French Market.
