A Kenyan-based law firm has been awarded the African Excellence Award in the Commercial Dispute Resolution Category by the United Kingdom.

The excellence award in the Commercial Dispute Resolution Category was awarded by MEA Markets an entity based in the UK a company that assesses and ranks leading Firms in Business and Law across the Middle East and Africa.
The award recognises and highlights industry leaders from varied sectors and specialisations across the Middle East and Africa.
It is based on a strict scrutiny process and the decision to issue an award to any entity or firm is made up by an entirely impartial panel
“As a firm, we pull together and work together, and therefore this success is a collective effort, our ethos is based on our firm motto - Incisive, dedicated, innovative - that enables us to aspire to do better, “ firm's senior partner Samuel Makori said.
He added that they are inspired by the words of William Randolph Hearst who said that you must keep your mind on the objective and not the obstacle.
Makori credited the achievement to a joint effort by everyone at the Firm.
The panel conducts research on a firm's capacity, responsiveness, professionalism, and ability which determines which individuals and companies are most deserving of winning an award.
MEA markets’ policy is that winners are not determined by the popularity of votes, but by their contributions within their industry.
Makori and Karimi Advocates was the only local firm ranked by MEA Markets in the category.
